What happens on each day?
Short driving days and two full sightseeing days.

Ahmedabad to Mount Abu
About 4.5 hours, crossing into Rajasthan near Abu Road, then the climb to Mount Abu. Sunset point in the evening.

Mount Abu
The Dilwara Jain temples (set visiting hours; no photography inside), Nakki Lake, and Guru Shikhar, the highest point in the Aravallis.
- Day3
Mount Abu to Udaipur
Down the hill and across to Udaipur, about 4 hours. An evening boat ride on Lake Pichola.
- Day4
Udaipur
The City Palace, Jagdish temple, Saheliyon ki Bari and Fateh Sagar. Or a half-day to Nathdwara if the guests are pilgrims.

Udaipur to Ahmedabad
About 5.5 hours back on the highway, with a drop at the hotel, the station or the airport.
Your agency or the hotel arranges the driver's night stay; the driver allowance covers his food.

Five days are billed at the 300 km a day minimum, 1,500 km, plus ₹1,500 driver allowance: ₹19,500 in a sedan, ₹21,000 in an Ertiga, ₹28,500 in an Innova Crysta. Agent rates are lower, on request.

Pick a car, the days and the number of cars.
Public rates for planning. Rajasthan state tax for the car, tolls, parking and the driver's night stay are extra at actual cost; driving between 10 PM and 6 AM adds 20%.
Use the spare kilometres: the route is about 780 km under the minimum, so these are already paid for. Nathdwara (about 50 km from Udaipur), Kumbhalgarh fort or Ranakpur can be added at little or no extra cost. Ask us to plan them in.

A sedan takes 4 guests, an Ertiga 6 and an Innova Crysta 7. With big suitcases on a multi-day tour, plan one seat less than the maximum. Larger groups travel in two cars or in our own Tempo Travellers and buses, quoted on call.

Planning notes
What should you plan around?
The state border, the hill road, and peak-season hotel prices in Udaipur.
- State tax: a Gujarat car pays Rajasthan state tax when it enters Rajasthan; it is added at actual cost. See Rajasthan tours from Gujarat.
- Dilwara hours: the Jain temples open to visitors only at set hours; plan day 2 around them.
- Hill road: the road up Mount Abu is narrow and busy on weekends; we drive it in daylight.
- Peak season: Udaipur hotels fill around Diwali, Christmas and New Year; book early.
- Add North Gujarat: Ambaji is about 45 km from Mount Abu, an easy stop on day 1.
