SHIV SHAKTITOURS & TRAVELS

Customer question · Corporate transport decisions

Does outsourcing transport transfer duty of care?

Short answer

The vendor does the daily checks; the company still checks the vendor.

Outsourcing moves the daily safety work to the vendor (licence checks, vehicle papers, pre-trip checks, tracking) but not the company's interest in the outcome. The company should check the vendor: ask for documents, inspect vehicles, ride a route, read the incident log and allow for vendor audits. This is practical guidance, not legal advice.
