This guide is for companies buying transport. Car owners: we run our own fleet and are not adding cars from owners at the moment (why).
Quick answer
Gujarat's main industrial belts for employee transport are Becharaji and the SMG plant area (staff from Mehsana, Kadi, Mandal, Detroj, Viramgam, Chanasma, Patan and Ahmedabad), Vithalapur near Mandal, Sanand GIDC (from Sanand, Bavla, Viramgam and Ahmedabad), Changodar, Gandhinagar and GIFT City, and Vadodara. Routes are planned from these pickup towns to each gate.
Chapter 01
Becharaji, the SMG plant area and Vithalapur
The automotive cluster around Becharaji, Hansalpur and Mandal draws staff from North Gujarat towns and from Ahmedabad.
The SMG (Maruti Suzuki) plant at Hansalpur, its vendor units, the TDSG battery plant and the Honda plant area at Vithalapur sit in the Mandal–Becharaji area. Staff commonly travel from Mehsana, Kadi, Mandal, Detroj, Viramgam, Chanasma, Harij, Patan, Becharaji, Vanod, Vithalapur, Sanand, Daslana and Ahmedabad city. Ahmedabad to Vithalapur is about 80 km, around two hours.
Our branch is at Hansalpur Circle, Becharaji, near the SMG plant. We serve staff at these plants and units; we do not name any company as our client. See Becharaji plants transport and Vithalapur industrial area.
Chapter 02
Sanand GIDC and the Changodar belt
The Sanand estates and Changodar sit west and south-west of Ahmedabad; staff travel from Ahmedabad, Sanand town, Bavla and Viramgam.
Sanand GIDC Industrial Estate (about 2,056 ha) hosts automotive, electronics, food and engineering units. Some of our cars and drivers are based near Sanand, and pickups from Sanand GIDC and Sanand town are at the same per-km rates, with kilometres counted from the pickup point. Changodar's units along the highway draw staff from Ahmedabad and nearby towns. See Sanand GIDC transport and shift transport in Changodar.
Chapter 03
Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, GIFT City and Vadodara
Office and city sites need general-shift routes, executive cars and airport runs more than long shift routes.
| Area | Typical movements | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ahmedabad | Office shifts, executive cars, airport accounts | Head office in Ghatlodiya |
| Gandhinagar and GIFT City | Office shifts, government and corporate visits | Local packages 4/40, 8/80, 12/120 |
| Vadodara | Plant and office shifts, local packages | Some cars and drivers based in Vadodara |
Chapter 04
What does geography mean for routes and vehicles?
Long distances and scattered towns mean routes are planned by travel time, with larger vehicles on full routes and cars on thin ones.
- Plan by time: a 40 km route through towns can take longer than a 60 km highway route.
- Size by riders: Tempo Travellers and buses on full routes, Ertigas and sedans on thin ones.
- Mind the gate: each plant gate has its own timing and security process.
- Cross-belt staff: some staff live in Ahmedabad and work in Becharaji or Sanand, which needs early departures.
In Gujarat the question is rarely "how far?" It is "how long, at 5 AM, through which towns?"How we plan routes
Chapter 05
Can one vendor cover several belts?
Yes. We run company transport across all these areas from Ahmedabad and Becharaji, with invoices split by site.
Companies with a plant in one belt and an office in another can use one account: one coordinator for large accounts, one monthly invoice split by plant, department or cost centre, and one set of reports. See one vendor or several.
Questions for a multi-site plan
- Which towns do staff at each site come from?
- Which sites run night shifts?
- Which sites need executive cars or airport runs?
- How should the invoice be split?
- Who coordinates each site?
