The Sabarmati Riverfront is a redeveloped promenade along both banks of the river, with gardens, event spaces and a flower park. It is a separate, modern leisure landmark from Sabarmati Ashram, which sits further along the same river but is a heritage and memorial visit rather than an evening-walk destination.

A walk along the promenade takes about an hour; boat rides are sometimes available depending on the season.

Evenings around sunset are the best time to visit. The Atal Bridge, a pedestrian bridge across the river, is a popular photo stop.
