Ahmedabad to Girnar distance and route
The drive takes about 6 hours in normal traffic, mostly along NH 27 via Bagodara and Rajkot.
- The drive follows the same road as our Junagadh route, since Girnar hill sits just outside the city.
- Girnar’s stepped climb runs past 9,000 steps to the main Jain and Hindu temple complexes partway up, with a longer path continuing to the summit shrines.
- A ropeway now covers a large part of the climb, cutting the time significantly for those who don’t want to walk the full stepped path.
- Start before sunrise if you are climbing on foot — it is a full-day undertaking either way.
- Combine with Junagadh city (Uparkot Fort, Mahabat Maqbara) for a fuller trip, since both are effectively the same drive.
