**Short answer:** Only without a backup plan; write one into the contract.

It is risky only if the vendor has **no real backup**. Reduce the risk by asking for a **backup plan per location** (ours: a backup car typically reaches a plant shift within about an hour), writing it into the contract with an **SLA** and **notice terms**, and reviewing performance monthly.
