# How do you work out transport cost per employee?

**Short answer:** Monthly cost ÷ riders from boarding lists.

We charge **per vehicle or per trip, not per head**. For reporting, divide the **monthly cost for a site** (from the invoice split by cost centre) by the **number of riders** (from boarding lists). Fuller vehicles lower the cost per employee; half-empty routes raise it.
